About Gadgetts
Technology, explained honestly.
Gadgetts is an independent publication built on one idea: people deserve straightforward, trustworthy information about the gadgets they spend their money on. No fluff. No inflated scores. Just real-world insight from people who genuinely care about technology.
Our story
Why Gadgetts exists
Gadgetts was founded by Robert Haba after years of frustration with the state of tech journalism online. Too many reviews were shallow summaries of press releases. Too many buying guides ranked products based on affiliate commission potential rather than genuine quality.
The idea was simple: build a publication that treats readers as intelligent adults — one that earns trust through consistency and honesty rather than through marketing polish.
Since launching, we have grown into a small but focused team covering smartphones, laptops, wearables, smart home devices, and the broader consumer electronics space. Every piece of content we publish reflects our core commitment: be useful, be accurate, be honest.
"I wanted to build the kind of tech site I actually wanted to read — one that tells you whether something is worth buying, not just whether it exists." — Robert Haba, Founder & Editor-in-Chief
The team
Who writes at Gadgetts
Gadgetts is written by a small team of technology enthusiasts with years of hands-on experience across consumer electronics. Every author is a real person with a public profile — no anonymous content.
Robert founded Gadgetts after several years working closely with consumer technology. He oversees editorial direction, sets review standards, and personally tests flagship devices before publication.
Our hardware specialist focuses on smartwatches, fitness trackers, and audio devices. All reviews are based on extended daily use — never a 24-hour first impression.
Responsible for our buying guides and comparison content. Aggregates data from multiple sources, verifies specifications directly with manufacturers, and tracks price history.
How we review
Our testing methodology
We combine hands-on product testing with in-depth research. Every review follows the same structured process so our conclusions are consistent and comparable across products.
We acquire products through retail purchase, manufacturer loan, or press sample — always disclosed in the review. Loaned units are returned after testing. No manufacturer has input on scores or conclusions.
Physical products are tested in real daily-use conditions for a minimum of five to seven days. We test across scenarios relevant to the target buyer — not just benchmarks in controlled lab conditions.
For products we cannot test physically, we conduct structured research across manufacturer documentation, user reports, and independent lab data. All research-based content is clearly labelled as such.
Scores are assigned against a fixed rubric covering build quality, performance, value, and user experience. Scores are not adjusted based on advertiser relationships or product pricing.
Reviews are updated when significant software updates, price changes, or new information affect our original conclusions. Update dates are displayed prominently on every article.
If a factual error is identified, we correct it promptly and note the correction at the bottom of the article. We do not silently edit published content.
What we stand for
Our editorial principles
These are not aspirational guidelines — they are the standards we hold ourselves to in every article we publish.
Editorial decisions are made entirely by our team. Advertisers and affiliate partners have no influence over review scores, rankings, or conclusions.
We disclose how we acquired every reviewed product, whether we earn affiliate commissions, and when an article has been updated. No hidden agendas.
Specifications and factual claims are verified against primary sources. When information is uncertain, we say so explicitly rather than presenting guesses as facts.
We write for the reader who needs to make a decision, not for search engine rankings. Content that isn't useful to real people doesn't belong on Gadgetts.
Every product is evaluated against the same criteria. A budget device is not penalised for lacking premium features. A flagship is held to a higher standard for its price.
Every article carries a named author. We stand behind our conclusions and engage with reader feedback openly. Anonymous content does not reflect our standards.
Gadgetts participates in affiliate advertising programs. Some links on our site may earn us a small commission if you make a purchase — at no additional cost to you. This commission never influences which products we recommend or how we score them. For full details, read our Affiliate Disclosure and Editorial Policy.
